You think you can do it all; the problem is you can't. Has your life become more hectic than ever$%: Are you becoming tired more frequently, losing patience easily, experiencing moodiness, and are so stressed out that you can't think straight$%: Are you losing contact with your friends; snapping at your family$%: Foregoing simple pleasures, taking on unnecessary burdens and, quite frankly, putting other's needs before your own is a recipe for ill-health, depression, and sadness. It's time to sit down and determine how you can improve your life.

Selfless acts are noble; but it eventually takes a toll you may not be aware of. While everyone seems to be concentrating on themselves, you are focusing on them. It's time to take care of you; being selfish just once is not a crime. The first step in improving your life is to think about you and your needs. If you fall apart, you won't be able to help anyone else. Selfishness is not defined by an inability to help others; it is the means by which you regenerate yourself by focusing on your own needs. Simple ordinary pleasures can make a world of difference in your life such as: a manicure/pedicure, a day out with friends; a new outfit.

You can improve your life by focusing on the balance within. If worry causes you to lose a night's sleep, it is one night too many. Yoga can help calm you. By simply sitting in a quiet room for fifteen minutes, choose a mantra to keep your mind focused. Play soothing music; it will lower your blood pressure and put you in a relaxed state. Think positive thoughts as often as you can. When you awake in the morning, go to the mirror and tell yourself how wonderful you are. Only worry about the things you can control, there is nothing you can do about the rest.

Certain entries:

If someone makes a disparaging remark, walk away. Don't be coaxed into an angry confrontation. Go out for a walk in the park; take notice of nature and the inner peace it exudes. If a situation arises creating angst, deal with it then let it go. Don't let it disrupt your life by claiming it as your own. You didn't create it, nor are you responsible for it. All the problems in the world are not your burden to carry; care about what makes you happy, and the people in your life who contribute to that happiness. Nothing is more important than being true to who you are. Put yourself first; life is hard enough without placing unimportant needs ahead of your own.

Love yourself; empower yourself to attain your most intimate goals. Acknowledge the kindness and good in you. Conduct yourself with dignity and honor. Finally, take charge of improving your life; nurture it, reward it; and the balance within will reveal itself through the smile on your face, and the gleam in your eyes. The road to improving oneself is paved with stones; remember they are just stones, not mountains.
